When you don't know what to do with your leftover cake...this teddy might be an idea.

Since it was my first time making a barbie cake, it can be hard to judge how much biscuit or cream to make, many times I end up with leftovers. Typically i put my leftovers in the freezer and use them on next weeks project.

But this time I wanted to try out my new modelling chocolate, so I decided to make a little bear cake. The cake is all covered in white modelling chocolate. The head and body is cake-pop and the arms and details are modelling chocolate.

The skirt is cake filled with vanilla German buttercream and crumb coated in white chocolate ganache.

I added 3 dowels in the middle and a tiny cake-board under the cake-pop body for structure and assembled the cake. There after i added a wooden dowel through the body to keep the head in place.

The head is made the same way as the body with a simple decoration in modelling chocolate. 2 wooden stick on the ears to keep them in place.

Putting the head into place on the cake.

I made the arms out of modeling chocolate and struggled to get them in place. They are kept in place with a wood dowel and as you can see the wood dowel is visible through the arm. This is a big no no, but I was under time pressure because it was a leftover cake and they just don't keep forever. So I decided to leave it.

Finally making the skirt and painting the cake with edible dust in blue.

And finally the bear cake is done. I should work on my videos and photos...one thing at the time I guess
